The story of the Revolution:

The Revolutionary War mainly started because King George III was taxing the colonists without any reason. First there was just tax on clothing and food. Then the King started to tax them on newspapers and stamps. This was called the Stamp Act. After a few years the king made a tea tax. This made the Americans furious so they dumped the king's tea in to Boston Harbor. After the Boston Tea Party, King George sent over British troops to the colonies to control the Americans. The Americans did not like having the British troops around or having to let the soldiers live in their houses. The Americans sent a letter to King George which was called The Declaration Of Independence. And that, my friends, started the American Revolution.
