P A L E S T I N E

Palestine is the name of a land that is now called Israel. It is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea on the continent of Asia. Other bodies of water near or on it include, the Gulf of Aquaba, Dead Sea, Lake Tiberus, and the Sea of Galilee. Countires located near the land include Egypt, Suadi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. There are several different enviorments in Palestine including desert climate, farmlands, and hills. From the West to the East are coastal plains that are dotted with hills and mountains of Galilee, calleys and platueas. Judea and Samaria are both a part of this area. In the south lies the Negev Desert. Elevations in Palestine can reach upto 1000 meters atop Mount Hebron and below Sea level on the shores of the salty Dead Sea. The only prominent farmlands are the Plain of Sharon and Jezreel.

Today Palestine has limited self-rule in the West Banks and Gaza Strip. Most of the land described above is now apart of the Jewish Homeland, Israel, which was founded on May 14, 1948. Some of the cities that are now apart of Palestine include Ramallah, Gaza City, and Hebron.

That is part of the problem. Palestine no longer has a homeland called Palestine. See History Of Conflict to find out more.
