What is a Democracy?
The United States is a
democracy. A democracy is a form of government where people in
a Country decide what leaders are elected and what rules are made.
People show their views by voting. A democracy is built on a majority
rule. That means that everyone should want what most of the people
decide in an election. The majority must consider the wishes of
the minority,but everyone must obey the laws. For the democracy
to work people have to be able to speak freely,meet together openly,and
communicate their ideas through newspapers,books,radios,and television
