"And last of all, the equator is an imaginary line going around the earth. Okay, class dismissed!" said Mr. Linton, Amy´s teacher.

    Finally! Amy thought. But oh-no!! Now it´s time to get braces! A chill went down her spine. Amy couldn´t decide which was worse, sitting through a Social Studies class with Mr. Linton or having to see Dr. Botbigu. And worse, having to see Dr. Botbigu for braces!

    Amy walked home so nervously, she didn´t even realize she was walking. She felt like she was still sitting in first period, Miss Huncher, writing a wonderful story. 

    When she reached her home, she went straight to her room. She didn´t want to show any sign of nervousness to her mother who loved Dr. Botbigu and couldn´t wait for Amy to get braces. 

    Amy lay on her bed watching an airplane go by, shouting, "They are going to wreck my beautiful teeth!" 

    "No, they´re just going to straighten them out and make them look prettier," her mother said, after overhearing her. "Listen honey, it´s time to go." 

    "No, I´m not leaving this bed!"  But eventually, Amy had to go with her mother to the orthodontist, Dr. Botbigu. 

     When they finally reached the office, Amy was more scared than ever. She couldn´t stand the sight of the model teeth with braces on them in the window. 

    "Mom, can we just go home?" Amy asked hopefully, for one last chance of going. 

    "No!" Her mother quietly screamed.

    So Amy walked in and held her fright inside.  Dr. Botbigu was standing  there. It almost looked like he was waiting for her! He had a fiercer smile on than ever before, and the only words he spoke to Amy were, "Time for braces." 

    Amy sat down in the chair at Dr. Botbigu´s request. After a long pause where neither the doctor or Amy talked, Botbigu spoke. 

    "Dim the lights and send the mother out!" 

    "Can´t she stay in?" Amy asked, surprised. 

    "No!" Dr. B said quickly.

     Curiously, Amy asked, "Why not?"

    "BecauseÇ she´ll get in the way," The Dr. said, quickly making up an answer. 

    So Amy´s mother left and waited outside.

    The minute the lights were dimmed, Dr. Botbigu turned around, out of Amy´s view and appeared to put something in his mouth. Amy struggled to get a view of what it was, but all she saw was the letter V. She didn´t pay much attention to it. She thought it was probably just a pill. It turned out that she was right. But not any old pill.

    Then Amy heard a noise behind her. It was a scream. She quickly turned around. Nothing was wrong. A little girl was getting the same pill that Dr. Botbigu took. Only, Amy observed that this one had the letter H on it. Then Amy heard a screeching noise coming from the other way. Amy quickly turned back to the doctor. It was Dr. Botbigu´s teeth! They were long and sharp. Amy couldn´t understand how his teeth got so long and sharp, all of a sudden. But she managed to get out the words, "W-W-What happened to your teeth?" 

    "The same thing that´s going to happen to yours! Ha ha ha!" Dr. Botbigu blurted out.

    Then he realized that he had to say something so that Amy would think that he was kidding, so he said, "Just kidding!" 

    "Phew!" Amy said, relieved.

    "So, aren´t you going to put the braces on?" 

    "Oh yes, the braces." 

    Dr. Botbigu put the braces on with no trouble and then turned around to get a pill. By now, Amy was scared of this pill. The one with the letter H on it had made a little girl scream, and the one with the letter V had made the Doctor´s teeth grow. She wondered what V and H stood for and she wondered which one she would get, or if she was going to get one at all. 

    "What are you getting?" asked Amy. 

    "A Vamp pill," the doctor said.  "It will cure the pain of the braces." 

    "Okay," Amy said. 

    She sucked the Vamp pill, which tasted pretty good, but not to the real Amy, only to the Amy on the first stage.

    The Vamp pill was made out of pure dried blood and a special chemical. But Amy didn't know that at the time. She just said thank you to Dr. Botbigu and went home with her mother.

    At school, she was embarrassed by her braces, until Amy saw that more than half the kids at her school had them.

    The next week, kids started laughing at her. Amy didn´t know what was so funny. But she finally got up the courage to ask someone what was so funny. The name of the person who she asked was Michael.

    "Michael, what is so funny?" She asked him. 

    "Don't you know?" he replied. "Your teeth, they´re so long, and sharp! Especially those two front ones!" He began to laugh again. Amy thanked him and ran to the bathroom. Indeed, her teeth were much longer. The vamp pill was kicking in. She was on the second stage. 
    Amy covered her mouth for the rest of the day, but she was very nervous. She didn´t know what was going on. She decided she would tell her mom this one and see if her Mom could do anything. When she got home, she ran to her mother. Unlike the day before. When she received braces. 

    "Mom!" she screamed. "Look what happened to my teeth!!" 

    "Oh my! We have to go see Dr. Botbigu! It's a medical emergency!!" 

    They rushed to the office and ran inside. Dr. Botbigu looked again like he was waiting for her and had that same fierce smile on.

    "Don't worry, it´s normal," the Dr. said immediately. 

    "How do you know?" Amy's mother asked. 

    "I just know," Dr. Botbigu said, staying very calm. "A lot of times I forget to mention that side effect to my patients." 

    "So it´s nothing?" Amy asked. 

    "No, it will go back to normal shortly after I, the braces and the V... Ç the braces off. It makes your teeth straighter." Dr. Botbigu replied. 

    Amy and her mother didn´t catch Dr. Botbigu´s mistake that almost revealed part of his plans. 

    On the way back, Amy thought of a way to tell her friends what her doctor had said. The kids understood and eventually got used to Amy´s long, sharp, teeth. As the weeks went on, strange things went on in Amy´s house. For one thing, she began to lose her appetite and started liking very rare steak, hamburgers, and other kinds of meat. Her mother didn´t notice it much, but she thought the quick change in Amy´s taste was very strange. Amy kept insisting that it was normal. Her voice became stronger yet slightly raspy at the same time. 

    A few days later, Dr. Botbigu called to see Amy again. 

    Amy sat in the chair waiting to hear what the Dr. had to say about the progress of her braces. Dr. Botbigu said hello and pretended to look at her braces. But really, he was looking much deeper, to the Vamp pill. He moved it slightly so that Amy would reach the final stage and then said everything was fine. He sent Amy home with the words, "My plan has succeeded!!" all over his 
mind. 

    That little move made all the difference, because one week later, her neighbors were dead. And a few days after that, the family across the street was too. 

    The police found them with no blood. 

    Amy was a 99 percent bloodsucker. She knew all of the secrets. All of Dr. Botbigu´s plan. And she knew to keep those secrets to herself. She had forgotten about Amy the girl and was now Amy the Vampire, just like Dr. Botbigu was.  She knew it was the pill that had made her turn into one. V for Vampire, and H for human. 

    The braces were under the Vamp pill´s command. Just like she was under Dr. Botbigu´s and that was how her teeth had gotten long and sharp. She wanted to be a vampire forever! She knew that if her braces were taken off, she would slowly turn back into a human. 

    Dr. Botbigu watched every move she made and was very happy.  People didn´t know it was her doing the killing because who would suspect a young girl, going around killing her neighbors! 

    A few years later, the police narrowed it down to Dr. Botbigu. They made him take off Amy´s braces and the braces of everyone else that he had put them on.

    Right before he took the braces off of Amy, she decided to reveal one secret. So as the Dr´s hands reached into her mouth, she screamed "BOTBIGU! Beware Of  The  Braces I Give  U!" 

    Dr. Botbigu heard this and anger filled up inside of him. But he decided he was in enough trouble already so he might as well not say anything. 

    He took Amy´s braces off and then got sent to jail. Because of  Dr. Botbigu´s Vampire intelligence, he escaped and changed his name to Dr. Lector for his next evil plot. 

    And of course, Amy lived happily, ever, after. Until her Mom came in and said, "Time to get your retainer. I found A great new orthodontist. His name´s Dr. Lector."
