Popsicle

Popsicles are great in the summer, but did you know that they were invented in the middle of winter? And by an eleven-year-old? He called it an Epperson icicle. After awhile, he shortened the name to Epsicle. He sold the Epsicle for five cents each that summer. Later on, he changed the name again to popsicle, because he made it with soda POP mix. Now you can get popsicles in all sorts of flavors, shapes, and sizes. You can thank that eleven year old boy back in 1905 who made a mistake that worked! If you could invent any kind of frozen delight, what would you call it, what would it be made from, what would it look like, and what would it taste like? Let us know by going to our guest book in Activities.
