Hey kids do you like riding on the Ferris Wheel? Have you ever wondered who created that dizzy machine? Well if you have wondered who created the Ferris Wheel, then this is the story for you.

George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. was born in the year of 1893. He grew up and became a civil engineer. He also worked with iron. When he saw the Russian Pleasure Wheel, he wanted to build one bigger and higher.

The Ferris wheel and the Russian Pleasure wheel had been around for a number of years. The people loved the pleasure that both rides gave them. The people had a blast on the 20 to 30 foot wheel. Then one day in 1893, Mr. Ferris built a wheel that was 25 stories tall. The wheel was built in Chicago. It was  capable of holding 35 cars of sixty passengers each.
