The Magic Dollar

The Crying Quarter

Coin and Paper Race

     Where Did It Go?

For this trick, you will need a quarter and an envelope. Before you do this trick, make a little hole on the bottom of the envelope just so that a quarter can fit through it. Drop the quarter into the envelope. Seal the envelope and then shake it a few times. Everyone will hear the quarter moving around. Now hold the envelope up in one hand. Say a few magic words. Tear the envelope into little pieces and send them flying into the air. (It will look like the coin disappeared.) Keep the slit closed with your fingers on your right hand.

  The Magic Dollar

For this trick you will need a dollar bill. Can you make a dollar bill turn upside down in four moves? First place it on the table, face up. Fold the bill in half by moving the right side over to the left. Then fold the top half down over the bottom half. Now flip the bill over from left to right. After that open the bill up to find the picture upside down.

 The Crying Quarter

Before you start, you’ll need to dip a small cotton ball in some water. Then hide the cotton behind your left ear. Next, when your friend hands you a quarter, take it in your right hand and rub it against your left elbow. Say that you’re doing it to clean off any dirt so that the quarter will be able to hear you. But what you’re really doing is bending your left arm so that you can get your hand up behind your ear. No one will see when you take the cotton ball in your fingers. Now quickly bring the cotton down behind the coin and hold the quarter in both hands. It’s time to begin talking to the quarter. Tell it to cry. Then you squeeze the cotton.

Coin and Paper Race

You will need a quarter and a piece of paper the size and shape of the quarter. Tell a friend to drop the quarter and the piece of paper at the same time so that the paper and the quarter land together. Does that sound simple? Now you try it! The trick is to put the paper on top of the quarter. The paper will seem to stick to the quarter. If your friends can’t figure it out just tell them that!
