Harry lived in a wonderful house with two wonderful parents (who just didn't happen to be human but were a witch and a wizard). Their names are James and Lily Potter. They were good people (or witches and wizards in this case).  The didn't seek to cause harm or anything like that. One day, it all turned bad. The most powerful wizard in all of the land, Lord Voldermort, killed Harry's parents and tried to kill Harry too but failed. Although he didn't manage to kill Harry, he did manage to damage Harry by making a terrible lightning bolt shaped mark on the middle of his forehead. The death of Harry's parents didn't only upset their lives but also Harry. Harry was then forced to move in with his muggle parents (not witches or wizards but human) and also ugly, stupid, etc..... Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Dursley. They also had a son named Dudley who was Harry's age and was  stupider and uglier than his parents even. Can you believe how ugly that must be?

Harry's friends are named Ron and Hermionie. They all go to the same school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Some of the teachers Harry has at Hogwarts are, Professor Snape who teaches Potions, Flitwick who teaches Charms, and Professor McGonagall who teaches Transfiguration, Professor Trelauny who teaches Divination, and Professor Sprout who teaches Herbology.

Rubeous Hagrid is the grounds keeper and also teaches Care For Magical Creatures. Professor Dumbledore is the headmaster (principal) of the school.

Quidditch is a very popular sport- for wizards that is. Harry plays the Seeker position. He chases and tries to catch the golden snitch. The "Golden Snitch" is the most important ball in the game. A lot of witches and wizards try this sport. It's a sport that requires  broomsticks. Harry has one of the fastest and most powerful broomstick of all (the firebolt).
