This is the interview we did with Laura Kovalek, Marine Mammal Trainer employed by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Laura is one of three people who work with the exhibit otters (Hailey, Roscoe, and Goldie). She is not involved in the research areas. She cares for the daily needs of the otters and does the public presentations about the otters.

How old are the three otters you have here at the exhibit?
  The male is 15, and the females are 17 years old.

Who counts the Sea Otters?
 The U.S. Fish and Game Service, California Fish and Game Department, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium staff and volunteers.
