Description: Stocky and powerful. The Mountain Gorilla is the most powerful of the 3 species of gorilla and it has the longest hair.

Length: 4-5 feet

Height: 5-6 feet

Weight: 200-600 pounds

Where it lives: The mountain gorilla is found only in Rwanda, Zaire, and Uganda. They live in dense forests, and the mountains of East Africa

Does it live in a group or pack: They live in family groups of 5-40 gorillas

Reproduction: Gorilla's mate at all times of the year. Their gestation period is 251-289 days long. They have 1 young per litter. They have a life span of 30 years.

Diet: The mountain gorilla is a herbivore. It eats fruits, leaves, and stems. Bamboo shoots are their favorites.

Why is it endangered: The mountain gorilla is endangered because of destruction and poaching. There are less than 650 left in the world.
