Where it lives: Mountain ranges of South Africa and the Cape and Karroo Mountains
Does it live in a pack? The Cape Mountain Zebra confuses predators by living in herds. The bold pattern makes it nearly impossible to focus on a single animal.
Why is it endangered: Because poachers hunt them and loss of habitat. There are now just over 200 left.
