Peregrine Falcon

Name: Peregrine Falcon

Scientific name: Falco peregrinus anatum

Description: Peregrine Falcons can fly over 200 mph.

Where it lives: The peregrine falcon places its nests on cliffs, buildings, and high bridges.

The peregrine falcon does not live in a pack.

Reproduction: It is amazing to watch peregrine falcons during courtship. They fly low, and high. They go through loops and circles. It's a regular aeronautics show.

Why is it endangered: The Arctic and American peregrines are considered endangered. From 1940-1946 it was legal in some parts of Britain to kill Peregrine falcons. It was legal because the British air force sent messages through carrier pigeons and Peregrine Falcons threatened this plan.
