The rattlesnake is a highly poisonous snake, and they also have a rattle on their tail. These kind of snakes live mostly in the hot and dry desert. The rattlesnake eats mostly meat so it is a carnivore. The rattlesnake eats mice, rats, and even other snakes! Their camoflauge like scales can hide their whole body of the snake in the desert. The largest rattlesnake is the Eastern Rattlesnake that can grow up to 7 and a half feet. These snakes are said to be good swimmers. They try to avoid humans as much as possible.

Their main predators are humans, big birds, and traps not ment for them. Their jaws open really wide to swallow their prey down whole! The rattle on it's tail shakes when it is frightened or anything else is in it's territory. The rattlesnake usually hunts near dawn or in the night if not as hungry. The snakes poison can kill a human if not treated withen a couple of hours, it could be fatal or in other words die.

When they lay their eggs the female lays about eight eggs. It takes a few months for the eggs to hatch. The eggs feel like silk but shaped like an egg. When they hatch out of their eggs they hurry around their mother for protection. after about a year they leave on their own. So thats how the rattlesnakes life is.
