
The Anaconda is the biggest and by far the most powerful snake in the world. They continue to grow all their lives, getting bigger and bigger each year. There are very large anacondas in the world, but the largest anaconda ever found was 37.5ft. long.Like all snakes, anacondas are cold-blooded, and the same temperature as their environment.It lives in tropical, swampy areas of South America. It spends most of its time in shallow water, being hidden from some prey.They are greenish-brown with a double row of black spots on their back, and smaller white markings on the side. Their skin is shiny but is dry to touch. The anacondas nostrils are on top of the snout, so it is making it easy to breathe when in the water.The anaconda eats caiman,deer, rodents and other things like that. They eat their food whole, and head first. The female gives birth to about 20-40 living young at a time. |
