Nebraska

Nebraska has a big barbecue contest! The Greater Omaha Barbeque Society (GOBS) was formed in 1992 to promote the art and science of genuine barbeque in the Omaha area and to organize the annual Barbeque Championship of Nebraska. It's conducted under Kansas City rules, and features 5 categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork, brisket and beef eye-of-round. Separate contests are conducted for side dishes, sauce, and showmanship. We also noticed that whenever Nebraskans wrote about 'Q, they spelled it "barbeque," so we left it alone just for this page.
