Breeds of Guinea Pigs

There are many breeds of cavies. Two of the breeds are the Abysssinian and the Peruvian. The Abyssinian is more active and can move really fast. The Abyssinian's fur sticks up, and it looks spiky. The Peruvians have wavy, long hair. They are colored white and blond. Since they have longer hair, they take more care than the abyssinian. This is not a cavy for people who are away a lot.

Another one of the breeds is the Rexes. The Rexes have hair that sticks straight up. Rexes are more hyper than other breeds. The Rexes come in black, brown, and gray colors. Another breed is the Angora. The Angora takes a lot more care than the other breeds of cavies. The Angora has long hair and comes in blond, brown, white, and black colors. The English-crested guinea pig is sort of like a Rex. It has two different colored feet. Two feet are black and two feet are yellow. No matter what breed you have, they will all need about the same amount of care.
