Slider


For the slider, your fingers grip the ball as shown in the picture. You throw it like a regular pitch, but then at the end of the wind-up, you twist your wrist and throw. The ball flies straight to begin with, but the rotation causes the ball to start to slide. There are different variations of the pitch.


 

Cutter


Hold your grip as shown in the picture, but hold the ball farther back than you would a fastball. Don't let the ball touch your palm because it won't get the necessy spin to curve, and it won't be the cutter you are throwing. When your arm passes your head on your throw, your palm should be facing you. When you're ready to release the ball, twist your wrist and snap the ball down upon release.
