Carolyn Reeder Watching "The Iris Still Blooms"

Carolyn Reeder, author of Grandpa's Mountain and other children's books, had been with us most of the day. During the last period of the day, she had a break. Earlier in the day many fifth graders had seen "The Iris Still Blooms", a WVPT video on the displacements. Mrs. Reeder had been listed as an advisor for the movie in its credits and yet she had never seen it.

During her break, we showed her the movie. There were some other fifth-graders in the room besides the ThinkQuest team, who were drawn to the movie.

The ThinkQuest team was supposed to be entering data on who was displaced for SNP, but we couldn't help occasionally turning around to watch the video.

Mrs. Reeder said that the video was a very good movie, and skillfully done. When the ThinkQuest team initially saw the movie, we thought it was very moving.
