It’s during the Great Depression and both your parents are out of work. There isn’t a cent to spare for anything except food, which there isn’t much of. You’re finally old enough to get a job, and you’re more than willing to help your family get through this terrible time. This is the only problem: there is no work. Then Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the president at the time, creates the CCC boys and now there is plenty of jobs open and a chance to send money home to your family!

Let’s pretend you really were in this situation. What would you do? Well, join the CCC, of course! Any job would be good enough for me if I could send enough money home to let my younger siblings be able to go to school each week.
