No, People aren't building monuments now. Because new monuments are restricted inside the Peace Park by Hiroshima city government. Last year a new monument was built in Noboricho Junior High School,

which Sadako Sasaki used to belong. But she has never been to the school due to disease.

The monument for Korean atomic bomb victims was moved to inside the Peace park from outside.

Korean have complained that is discrimination.

2. Has Hiroshima really been able to prevent the making of nuclear weapons?

Yes, I think so. Another nuclear weapon has not been used after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki people have appealed for tragedy of atomic bomb and world peace.
