Height of Everest
Is the highest point on earth really that high? Everest stands at 29,035 feet above sea level. To realize just how high that is, imagine flying in an airplane. The pilot announces that "We are now cruising comfortable at 30,000 feet..." Well, that is just slightly higher than the summit. For us Floridians, this is a concept that is hard to understand. The highest point in Florida is 345 feet, Britton Hill, which is located north Florida. Our school is located in South Florida and is about 6-7 feet above sea level.
