The mountain that the Sherpa's call Chomolungma is situated on the continent of Asia. The location is 27° latitude and 86° longitude. It is found in the Himalayan mountain range and lies between the countries of Nepal and Tibet. In fact, Everest's summit ridge separates Nepal and Tibet. Tibet is on the south side and Nepal is on the north side.
Every year, Everest's height changes. This change occurs because of plate tectonics. The elevation of Mt. Everest right now is 29,035 ft. (8850m). People used to think that it was 29, 029, until it was found to be 9 feet higher in 1999.
