About Our Team

The Students:

GEORGE D.

Hi! I’m 11 years old and I really liked working on this page. My favorite part of creating this page was writing the HTML for the text.

I received an HTML book at Christmas and I’m so enthusiastic about using this language for future projects.

I like science, basketball, and soccer. I am involved in extracurricular activities such as forensics and violin playing.

KERI H.

I am 11 years old and I wrote an essay to get on the ThinkQuest team.

My favorite part of this project was learning about the American Revolution. I also researched various topics and wrote some of the journals, diary entries, letters, etc. for the events that occurred during the fight for independence. I created the drawings for Fort Vincennes and one of the Intolerable Acts drawings.

I like basketball, reading, and math. I also am a member of our school’s forensic team.

PATRICK M.

I am 11 years old and I like sports including basketball, baseball, and football. My favorite college basketball team is North Carolina. I also like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I did a lot of the computer work and the drawings found on the Townshend and Intolerable Acts pages. I hope you like our In This Corner A New Nation Web Page.

ANNIE R.

Hi! I am Annie and am also 11 years old. I play soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Our Web Page was a great experience for me. I had the opportunity to complete some of the artwork mainly the British general and one of the militiamen. I also drew the cartoon A Soldier’s Dilemma which can be linked from our Valley Forge page.

I hope you have fun and learn more about the American Revolution,

an important time in our nation’s history.

ANNA S.

Hi! I am in fifth grade. I participate in volleyball and basketball as well as run cross-country. I play the violin and like all kinds of music.

I enjoyed working on ThinkQuest. It was fun to see the pages being made and all the hard work we put into creating them.

This was a great experience for me and my team. This was our first and we really had fun learning all about our nation’s history and The American Revolution.

Our Teachers:

MR. G.

Hey, my name is Mr. G.  I am the Spanish Teacher at Saint Gabriel's School.  Mrs. D. came to me in mid November with this project and we have been working on it ever since.  Thanks to the fifth grade students who made this all possible and we will be back next year.

MRS. D

When I received the advertisement from ThinkQuest in the school mail, I looked at it and put it away for a week or two before giving it some additional thought. I have my own Web page for homework assignments and considered the project very interesting and a wonderful way for the students to create their own page. We required any student in fifth grade to write an essay on why they would like to be part of a ThinkQuest team and narrowed it down to the five students above.

We have worked numerous hours on the project during holiday breaks, Thursdays after school, and beginning in January every Saturday for three hours except for one when too many team members had conflicting interests. It was so much fun yet a lot of hard work.

Our hopes are that you learn from our research and value the freedoms we have in the United States of America.
