A New Nation

13 Original Colonies vs. England

Take a step back in time during the years 1775-1783 when taxes imposed by King George III of England, angered colonists who had no representation in Parliament.  The colonists had been living in the 13 original colonies 3,000 miles west of England across the Atlantic Ocean and had their own assemblies to make their laws and levy taxes.

Angered by these taxes, the colonists combined their efforts since they would be stronger and more able to fight King George III  united as one, instead of many.

What events led to victory and independence from England?  Journey with us and discover how freedom was won by a group of people whose strength, sacrifice, courage, and perseverance gave birth to a new nation.
