Welcome! To the Historical Documents Page.
On this page and the four pages that link off of it, you will learn all about the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, the 27 Amendments (which are part of the Constitution), and the Declaration of Independence. As you know from the history home page, the Articles of Confederation were produced by John Dickinson in 1776 and adopted by the Continental Congress in November of 1777. The constitution has a preamble, 7 articles, 27 amendments, and signatories at the bottom. The Constitution has a lot of our countries laws. The Declaration of Independence was completed on July 4th, 1776. It declares our countries freedom. This is just the basics.
