Once there was a dog named Juno.  Juno had good eyesight and very good hearing.  He lived with his owner Sarah and Sarah's three year old son, Jacob.  They owned a small house in the country.  One day Sarah sat out on her front porch and watched as Jacob and Juno wandered around the yard.  They walked around a bush and Juno started barking.  Sarah ot up and walked in their direction.  When she was there, the first thing she saw was Jacob.  He was lying on the ground because he fell back and was scared.  Sarah picked him up and walked around the bush to the other side.  Juno was lying on the ground  next to a dead rattle snake.  Juno became a hero.  He received a medal and his picture was in the paper. He was written to by many children.
