Snake Health

"Help your snake stay
healthy by following these
tips.  (Don't let your mom
too close to it either!)"

You need to have a vet regularly check your snakes health for mites and tics on the skin, worms , protozoa, bacteria, and viruses. Some snakes have even had cancer.

If your snake has been sick, it is really important to clean the cage completely before you put the snake back into the cage.

Ticks can be pulled off with some forceps. Be careful that you get the entire tick and don't leave the head on the snake.

Mites are a lot like ticks.  They are pin-head size.  Mites are usually found on snakes that are bought in a pet store and usually not on snakes from the wild.
A two inch square price of a Shell No-Pest Strip will take the mite off the snake.
Leave the strip on over night.
