Hi, welcome to Trout says,
"The Future is Yours!" This web site is made for kids in grades 4-6 or
ages 9-11. Our web site's focus is to teach kids how to make choices wisely
and to think about all the consequences before making the decision, a thing
that people rarely do. We hope to show kids how their decisions affect
what happens in their life.
Our site includes different
simulations that are categorized by their subjects: Family, Extra Curricular
Activities, and School. We used simulations because by doing so, you (
yes you) can experience all these types of events that have different choices
without having to go through it in reality. So, you can practice looking
at all the good and bad consequences BEFORE you make a decision. Therefore,
you can determine whether a choice is good before you actually make it.
Then, when you're finished, you'll be able make good decisions now that
you have seen how to look at a choice and point out all the consequences.
You'll also be able to see how much of a risk you are taking, and how your
decisions will affect how much fun you will have. You can take all this
information that you will learn and apply it to your everyday life.
There are different choices
that have to be made in life, their topics ranging from drugs to chores.
These choices are being made in different environments such as school and
your own home. We hope to pinpoint these tough choices by making our questions
in our simulations a little more "challenging" ( e. g. Lesser of two evils)
and more reality based.
We wanted to make a site
that taught decision making skills because there are not that many sites
that do. It's important to learn how to make good decisions because
your decisions set your future.
