A Hieroglyphic Guide
Hieroglyphs were the Egyptians way of writing. They were made up of little pictures,unlike English writing. Some of the Hieroglyphs stood for letters while others words and,still yet, others whole phrases! [Like sign language.] There were 750 Hieroglyphs in all. Learning them must be like learning long division without a teacher! BUT, only scribes could learn to write! Usually scribes were the sons of important people or leaders in Egypt. Try to learn all these letters by yourself! Try spelling your name or writing a secret code message to your friend using these hieroglyphs.
