A panel comic consists of one panel. An editorial comic normally consist of events or problems. Comics usually depict the adventure of one or more character’s in a limited time sequence. Rube Goldberg’s cartoons were very popular. He drew complicated devices for ordinary tasks. The ordinary comic strip originated in the late 19th century and achieved instant popularity. The first comic strip to receive the essential characteristics was "Hogan’s Alley" which first appeared on May 5th, 1895 was created by Richard Felton Outcault. He is recognized as "father of the comic strip." The first comic strip itself was "The KATZENJAMMER KIDS" by Rudolph Dirks. The first comic book was a collection of "Mutt and Jeff'' comics. In 1933, several comic different books were published and distributed. The first one to be sold on newsstands was Famous Funnies. It first appeared in 1934. Comic's with no words are called pantomime strips. Other types are called 1. Funny comics [funnies] 2. Dramatic comics [Rex Morgan, M.D.] 3. Super Hero comics[ Spiderman ,Batman, etc. ] 4. Satiric comics[ Bloom County]
