Dwarf Cuttlefish
 

THE PLACE YOU'LL FIND IT:

You can find it in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.

CREATURE BODY FEATURES:

It is brown with purple spots and an oval shape.  It has eight short but not stubby arms and a couple of arm-like tentacles near the mouth.  They both have rough, hard suckers on them.  It looks metallic in the sunlight.
It is 1 and 1/2 inches long.

WHAT KIND OF AREA YOU WILL FIND IT IN:

On the sea floor near the dry ol' shore.

ITS GRUB:

It eats little fish and invertebrates.

CREATURE FEATURES

The dwarf cuttlefish is a boneless and soft animal related to the squid.  It has an internal shell called the cuttlebone.  The cuttlebone is porous, broad, and chalky.  It is used to make toothpaste.  It can darken the water with an inky substance, that contains brown pigment called sepia.  This was used to make ink in ancient times.

HOW IT HAS BIRTH:

It lays a layer of eggs that obviously hatch after awhile.
