I am grateful to receive the Nobel in the name of the hungry ,the naked , the homeless ,of the crippled, of the blind, of the leapers, of all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society, and are shunned by everyone." This is a statement given by Mother Teresa accepting the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

Mother Teresa's life highlights.

In 1910, Agnes Ganzhou Boxjaxhiu, was born August 27 in Skopje in what is now Macedonia, Mother Teresa was the youngest of three children of an Albanian builder.

In 1928, Mother Teresa became a novitiate (the period of probation of a novice in a religious order) in Loretta order, which ran mission schools in India, and takes name sister Teresa.

In 1929, Mother Teresa arrives in Calcutta to teach in St. Mary's High School.

In 1937, Mother Teresa took her final vows as a nun. As a nun Mother Teresa has helped the poor people of India. She helped feed the hungry assisted the blind and cared for orphaned children. There are very few people that are so dedicated to their beliefs and work to spend their whole life to the well being of others.
