Respect

"Elieli kulana o ainaike."
Profound is the nature of ainaike (land of knowledge). Respect for knowledge.
Whaling was the best demonstration for respect because the crew on board a whaling ship had to have respect for each other and cooperate in order to be productive. They also had to have respect for the ship's captain. Since the captain was like the boss of the voyage they would have to follow the directions that were given and make sure that they were finished.
Our ThinkQuest team has demonstrated respect to each other because we each had our own responsibilities. For example, when someone did the graphics and passed on the writing file to another person to do, we had to respect what they could do. If someone made a mistake we had to work together to correct it instead of blaming them or putting them down. We also had to respect our coaches because they helped us plan and publish our website and committed their time to the project.
A way that you could make a difference is by showing respect to others, like your teachers, elders, and even showing respect to yourself by studying hard and making good choices.
