We feel the best example showing courage are the life's lessons taught to us by the accomplishments of Ellison Onizuka because despite many obstacles, he worked really hard to achieve his dreams which were not easy. His biggest dream was to become an astronaut. He kept on trying and finally accomplished his goal. He went on several space exploration missions and was the first Asian American to travel into space. What Ellison did was not only courageous as he ventured into the unknown, but also heroic. He not only made his family proud but also the people of Hawaii.
To us Ellison Onizuka is a role model because he encouraged young children to follow their dreams and never give up. Something that I learned from him was when you keep on trying success will come, no matter what color or nationality you are.
A way that you can make a difference is by sticking to your dream and believing in yourself. If you are someone who has achieved success, share your knowledge and talent with others by tutoring or coaching. Encourage others to reach for their dreams too. Maybe one day you'll be reaching for the stars!
