Commitment

"He mau hana kupono he ala i hehi ia."
The tasks of an upright nature binds a person to work productively.
One of the best examples for commitment is the Lihue Gateway Beautification Project on the island of Kauai. The reason why we see it as one of the best examples showing commitment is because in order for the county to have received the grant to beautify the area just outside our airport, many organizations and individuals had to commit their time and effort into the project. Organizations or groups agreed to adopt certain sections of the roadway to help with the planting and to maintain that section for at least two years.
After reading about the project and actually seeing people out there working to help make our island beautiful, it shows me that people are willing to, and do care about our island, our home land. People give up their time every Saturday and help make our island a better, more beautiful place.
If you're ever on the island of Kauai and want to help make a difference, call (808) 241-6623 and speak to Eddie Sarita to ask about how you can get involved with our community project which is called "Hoolokahi" (working together).
