Why You Should Be Fit- Physical fitness is a big part of any game or sport. If you are physically fit you will be able to play any game longer without getting tired. That will make you a better athlete, it will also make you feel better about the way you look and the way you do things. If you are fit you will live a longer and healthier life. Before you exercise you should always stretch first.

 

Clothes To Work Out In-Summer clothes should be loose fitting, shorts and a t-shirt are fine. For winter work outs sweat pants, sweat shirts, sweat socks, and sneakers, for out-side exercise a wind breaker and a wool cap should be worn. For aerobics you can wear a body suit.

Muscles- Muscles are the machines that move your body, and all machines need fuel. Eating and breathing gives your muscles fuel. The fuel that food generates is called Glycogen. Glycogen is is also made and stored in the Liver.When you are all out of Glycogen your muscles begin to decrease in strength so they begin to get tired. So the more Glycogen the better. Your second source of energy is fat and blood sugar delivered by the blood. Muscles use these when they are all out of Glycogen. When your muscles are starting to get tired you can gain more power in your muscles by eating healthy foods.

Oxygen is in the air we breathe. We use it to burn fuel, carbon dioxide is a gas given off as muscles burn the fuel. The blood carries oxygen to the muscles as they work and then carries away the carbon dioxide.

Rest & Sleep

Some people think they must work out until they feel exhausted in order to benefit from exercise. They are very wrong! Listen to your body. You will feel and know when you are tired. Once you are, let your body rest and get better. There is nothing wrong with taking a day off from your exercise program.

Getting enough sleep is another important way to save energy and let your body rest from working out. An athlete should try to get eight to ten hours of sleep a night.
