The Halloween Tree
A Movie Review
Based on the book written by Ray Bradbury

The story begins on October 31st when five friends were getting ready for one of the best holidays of the year. They would meet in a certain place every year. This year, their friend "Pip" was not there. They looked everywhere before they ended up at his house. It was strange because there were no Halloween decorations. Then they saw the ambulance in the driveway with Pip inside. They followed the ambulance on their bikes and then saw the spirit of Pip leading them somewhere else.

The adventure unfolds at an old haunted house. A scary man named Monshroud is after Pip's spirit. He has a huge tree in the yard full of many different kinds of Jack-O-Lanterns. One looks like Pip and the children soon realize this will be their friend's demise if they can't save him from Monshroud.

Through their adventures, the kids find out the history of their costumes like the mummy, the skeleton, the witch, and a monster. At each place, Pip is always ahead of them. The reach a point where they need to save Pip, and they do.

The end reminds us of how important it is to be a friend as they save Pip from being a pumpkin face on the Halloween Tree.

Two thumbs up for this exciting movie that offers a bit of history as well.
