Location

Ever wonder why in the world the founders of the thirteen colonies located the colonies where they did? Here are some examples. The kings of England gave the founders charters to start Colonies near the Atlantic Ocean where they would land first in the new continent. They did that because there would be a lot of business from all the ships that would come in.
Another example would be that based on the accounts of George Weymouth's voyages to the New England area in 1606, two private companies were formed to seek a patent for colonization on the Atlantic Coast. One of these companies was called London company, and it was given the southern Virginia territory.
A last reason why they located the colonies where they did was because there were rivers close by so they could ship their goods to England. As you can see it was a very logical place for the colonists to locate their colonies for so many reasons.
