    Popular movies that came out in the seventies were Jaws, which was about a shark that attacked people and killed them. Sequals to Jaws have been produced since the original film came out.
    Star Wars was released, which was about a boy that was training to become a Jedi, but runs into Darth Vader which is a Jedi's worst enemy. Many fighting challenges occur to win over the universe.  The setting of this incredible movie was in outer space and space ships.
    Another movie that was in the seventies was called Roots. Roots showed how horrible people treated Africans Americans. This movie had a very good moral to it.
    Popular television series in the decade were All in the Family, M*A*S*H, Superman, Happy Days, and Gilligan's Island.  M*A*S*H* was a comedy and drama show about living in the armed service through the wars.  Comedy sitcoms were a trend in television series during the seventies.  You can see re-runs of these television shows today.

    One of the most popular books in the seventies was called Are You There God? Its Me, Margaret.  This popular book was written by the successful Judy Blume.  She is one of the best children's authors.  She has numerous books that she has published.

    Some of the popular toys that children liked to play with in that decade was the Slinky. The Slinky is either plastic or metal that is wound up into a circle that you can bend. Some others were Nerf Toys.
    Nerf Toys were a series of sports equipment that was made out of soft material like foam. One other toy was Legos.
Legos were little blocks that would fit together to make all kinds of things like houses, buildings, and towers.  People in the seventies seemed to have a lot to do if they were board!!!
    Major musical groups of the seventies were Ted Nuggent, Fleetwood Mac, and Bad Company.  Fleetwood Mac came back together in the nineties to make their last album.
