Forties Fads and Fashions

Girls in the forties were always wearing long spread out dresses. They also wore long over coats. In 1946, the first two piece bikini was produced.It could fold so small that it would fit in a little ring box. They also loved to wear hats. A lot of the hats were flat, but some of them were deep. The men in the forties wore over-coats and tuxedoes. They tried to look very well groomed in the forties.The tuxidoes they wore were usually black, but sometimes they wore other dark colors.
Some of the fads in the forties was the new way to dance. The new dance was called the Jitterbug.This new dance was just crazy because they would do all these weird moves and flips. Also the long playing record was also in. People also substited materials. Some materails that couldn't be uptained because of the war were substituted for cheaper items.
