Ilima Ramson was born on Kaua'i. She has a mixture of races. Ilima traveled, entertained, and lived in Europe, Japan, Micronesia, Canada, and Acapulco. While she was on a Royal Carribean cruise, Ilima was inspired to write her first song entitled, "Crusing the Hawaiian Islands. She entered the Kaua'i Mokihana Composer contest and won first Place for People Choice Award. Songs from her "Love on Lumahai" CD also hit #1 on Kaua'i.

Ilima also wrote "Kaua'i Kau Wela Summer Love" which swept the Mokihana Composer Contest, winning in six catergories. Her "Mele Kalikimaka" CD was nominated for the Na Hoku Hoku Hano Award. The Hawaiian version of the Grammy Award.

Ilima credits her warm 'ohana heritage. As her way of sharing her talents and giving back to the community, Ilima offers ukulele lessons, teaches Senior Citizens, and plays for hospitals and care homes.

When asked if she had any advise for beginners, she says, "At first it's hard, but don't give up. Master each chord, even the hard ones."
