Darrell learned to play the ukulele at the age of 5 years old. He learned to play by watching his grandfather and listening to tapes, trying to follow along. He tries to play the ukulele three times a week. His favorite ukulele is the Sonny D. He also has a Kamaka and a Kaimana ukulele.
Darrell says that when he plays the ukulele it makes him feel very happy and he just goes with a smooth flow. Darrell plays at Keoki's Paradise Restaurant and Dukes Canoe Club on Kaua'i. Darrell likes to play reggae and Hawaiian music.
