Aloha, I'm Leinani and I'm a teacher at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School
on the beautiful island of Kaua'i.
Being a part of ThinkQuest was a brand new experience for me. Here I was, a
coach, with the slightest idea on how to go about producing a web page. Programs
like Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Image Ready 2.0, and Flash 4 and 5, to name a
few, were all foreign to me. Then, there was the big obstacle, trying to
figuring out what route and how to go about that route so that our valuable
ukulele information could be shared with all. But, that didn't stop there. The
HTML coding was another challenge that had to be conquered. All in all, I must
say this experience has been a rewarding one and I am proud to say the children
taught me everything I now know.
Although I'm not as talented as I would like to be, I have had a few
backyard lessons in my time. A few in particular I remember with my Tutu. There we would be singing and
strumming our hearts away. And when I didn't know the songs, Tutu would sing and
shout out chord just so I could play. Those were the days!

of our backyard lessons.
Hope you had as much fun viewing our Ukulele...Voice Of Hawai'i site as we had making
it for you.
