
Kauikeaouli Kamehameha was born on the big island of Hawaii at Keauhou,Kona. His birth date isn't certain, although historians think that it might have been around August 11,1814. He chose March 17th to be the date of St. Patrick's Day after learning about Saint Patrick from a friend who is Irish.
His entire name is Kauikeaouli Kaleiopapa Kualamaolani Mahinalani Kalaninuiwaiakua Keaweawe'ulaokalani Kamehameha III. His father was obviously King Kamehameha I and his mother was Keopuolani, who is among the highest ranking ali'i in Hawaii.

-1820 the arrival of the first American Protestant missionaries; he was taughtthe Christian religon and was introduced to the English Language
-June 6,1825 Kauikeaouli was declared the new king of Hawaii; it was then that he inherited the titlte Kamehameha III
-March 15,1833 he took control of the government after he rebelled against Kina'u
-1835 he was forced to share his powers over the kingdom with Kina'u and the Council of Chiefs
-July 1834 Kauikeaouli married Nahi'ena'ena
-1837 He married Chiefess Kalama; they had two children together, although they died soon after birth
-1839 Kauikeaouli founded the Chiefs' Children's School in Honlulu
-1846 The name of the school changed to The Royal School
-1839 He changed the government bywriting a document called The Declaration of Rights
-Feburary 25, 1843 The Hawaiian flag was lowered and the British flag took it's place
-July 31, 1843 The Hawaiian flag took it's original place raised high above the islands
-December 16, 1854 King Kamehameha III dies at age forty
