Like I said, the coconut tree was the most useful tree.
I'll tell you what the different parts were used for.
SHELL OF THE NUT
The nut shell could be used to make bowls, spoons, ladels, and small knee drums.
OIL
The oil was used as baby oil, hair oil, and sun tan oil.
FLESH & MEAT
the meat and the flesh of the coconut was used for milk, haupia, kulolo, main dishes, and paipaie'e.
LEAVES
The leaves were used for thatching the sides of houses, for a broom, baskets, dusters, and for fans.
TRUNK
The trunk, or the base of the tree was used to make calabashes, hula drums, small canoes, and posts for houses.
FRUIT-HUSK-FIBER
The nut contained all of these things. The were used to make tying handels, fuel husk, cordage, tying outriggers, and nets for calabashes.
