Io is the only known volcanic body besides earth. It has hundreds of many of them recently discovered by the Galileo spacecraft volcanoes all together and the Voyager satellites witnessed the eruption of all nine volcanoes at once. It was discovered in the year 1610. It was discovered by Simon Marius and Galileo Galilei. Io's radius is 1,821 kilometers which is similar to our moon's which is 1,738 kilometers. |
