The picture you see above is Europe's interior.  The brown surrounding the core is a rock shell.  The core, (shown in gray) is made up mostly of iron and nickel.  The blue and white is frozen ice and liquid ice.

Europa is a strange looking moon of Jupiter.  It is unlike Callisto and Ganymede.  The weirdest thing is that Europa has no visible craters as well as almost no vertical relief, meaning it has no uphill or downhill raises.  It is the smoothest body in our solar system.  There is a possibility that Europa might be internally active due to tidal heating at a level one-tenth or less than that of Io.  Models of Europa show that beneath a thin 3 mile crust of water ice, Europa may have oceans as deep as 30 miles or more.  Since liquid water existed in the past, could life have formed and even exist today?  Europa`s radius is 1,565 km,  surprisingly it is not too much smaller than  our  moon's radius.  Europa has a metallic core.  The core is surrounded by a rock shell surface.  These are the things that make Europa one of the most interesting moons in the solar system.  Europa is also the name of a Greek goddess who was a princess who was carried off by Zeus.

FAST FACT:  NASA is working on a project to send something called a Cryobot to Europa.  It will melt through the ice and release a sub to search for life in Europa's ocean.
