The Galileo Project was undertaken by JPL/NASA in order to examine Jupiter and its moons.  It is managed by JPL/NASA. Launched Oct. 18, 1989 from the space shuttle Atlantis, and after a six year odyssey, the satellite reached its destination on  December 7, 1995. It is still orbiting Jupiter and making many close passes by it's moons.  Come put on your spacesuit and come with us on a journey to Jupiter.
