Newbery Award is awarded annually by the American Library Association
to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature
for chidlren. This award is to honor John Newbery an 18th century
British bookseller.

genre is fiction that deals with events that could really happen in life.
Historical
Fiction
This
genre are stories set in the past and try to recreate the auro of a time
past, reconstruct characters, events, movements, ways of life and spirit
of days gone by.
Science
Fiction
This
fiction deals with the influence of real or imagined science on society
or individuals.
Fantasy
This
genre is any story of the impossible- a tale that has events happening
that could never happen in the natural world.
Mystery
The plot revolves around some crime--whether it be a murder, theft or kidnapping.
There is usually a detective in this type of novel.
Adventure
The adventure story is one that has to have somthing happen. There
has to be action and conflict within thie type of story. The author has
to have the reader identify with a character in the story in order to draw
them in.
