Tal is a boy who lives in the castle of The Seven Towers.  He has lived his whole life in the darkness and hasn't been outside the castle yet.  Tal's father has disappeared on a mission for the "Empress," and his mother is very ill.

Tal must climb the Red Tower in search of a Primary Sunstone.  When Tal reaches the top he fall into a very mysterious world unlike the one he knows.  In this world he finds warriors, ice ships, and magic.  Tal must somehow find a way to make it back to the world he loves.
